Mr. Hopper has more than 35 years of professional
and leadership experience, including 22 years of
managing large ER/WM, D&D, construction design/build
and operations projects at DOE and commercial sites.
Mr. Hopper has managed projects in all phases
including design, construction, commissioning, and
operations.
Current responsibilities with EnergX LLC include
P&L accountability for a $40M/yr nuclear operations
facility and strategic planning for new business
growth.
Prior to joining EnergX, he held leadership
positions with Westinghouse, Scientific Ecology
Group, Waste Management Federal Services and
Duratek, Inc. Projects under his watch have been
successfully completed while achieving excellent
safety records. Mr. Hopper successfully implemented
work force transition and ISMS programs at numerous
Oak Ridge Operations projects.
For 14 years, Mr. Hopper was involved with the
start-up, safe operation, and management of uranium
enrichment plant at Portsmouth and the Portsmouth
Gas Centrifuge Enrichment Plant (GCEP). He was
responsible for management of departments providing
start-up, engineering support, data management, and
training programs for an operations division of 600
people. As the Plant Start-Up Leader, he
successfully led the commissioning of $750M of high
tech processing equipment at the GECP while
implementing Conduct of Operations and completion of
all Operational Readiness Reviews.
As the Westinghouse Program Manager for a $2
billion ER/WM program at the DOE Fernald Site, Mr.
Hopper directed 100 professionals and over 400
design, construction, and remediation subcontractor
employees performing CERCLA remediation and
implemented ES&H capital improvements. Mr.
Hopper also served as the President of Isotek
Systems, LLC for four years leading a $385 million
design/build/operate/shutdown project to retrieve,
process and down blend U233 currently stored at ORNL
and implement final disposal.
