Operational Readiness

EnergX has coordinated and/or conducted more than 100 readiness reviews across the DOE complex at Oak Ridge, Hanford, and Rocky Flats. Based on this experience, EnergX has been very successful at performing readiness reviews at the TRU Waste Processing Center (TWPC) site as well as providing the management and technical leadership to assist other clients in successfully navigating this process. EnergX at the TWPC, lead the turnaround of the failed contractor ORR program by the previous contractor, passed the ORR and successfully initiated nuclear processing operations. In the past 18 months alone, EnergX has passed 9 readiness assessments and two comprehensive ORR’s each one on the first time though with only minimal pre-start findings. Independent assessments or reviews are conducted in accordance with DOE O 425.1, Startup and Restart of DOE Nuclear Facilities.

EnergX LLC has extensive experience performing independent verification reviews (IVR) and was one of the pioneers for this management self assessment technique. EnergX LLC implemented this technique for the last 5 major revisions to the TWPC Documented Safety Analysis (DSA).

Over the past three years the EnergX team has successfully passed independent assessments conducted for the startup of CH Waste Processing (ORR), startup of RH Waste Processing (ORR), startup of Macroencapsulation of mixed waste(RA), and startup of the CH Marshalling Building (RA). These independent reviews have validated the EnergX programs as sound and effective.
