Waste Management
EnergX is well known for expertise in waste management. At DOE’s Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site (RFETS), EnergX was instrumental in the development, planning, and implementation of a comprehensive waste management program in assisting with the characterization, packaging, and transportation of all wastes generated at the site. In Oak Ridge, EnergX has been responsible for the TRU Waste Processing Center (TWPC); responsible for the characterization, packaging, storage, and shipment of all legacy TRU waste out of Oak Ridge. At TWPC, EnergX handles all types and forms of wastes including LLW, MLLW, CH-TRU, and RH-TRU.
EnergX maintains waste certification programs for the Nevada Test Site (NTS), the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), and Envirocare. We provide program direction and support to ensure proper management of waste from receipt through processing and disposal.
EnergX subject-matter experts ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and we support customer processing and shipping goals, resulting in safe and compliant management from receipt and processing through transport to final disposal.
