EnergX has supported more than 70 D&D projects nationwide. Beginning with the closure of the Rocky Flats Environmental Test Site (RFETS) and continuing with D&D projects at Hanford and Oak Ridge; our goal is always to ensure the project is executed in a safe, compliant, efficient, manner and is completed on time and within budget. EnergX has performed numerous facility evaluations in order to transition facilities to a D&D ready status or for reuse. EnergX has conducted facility engineering evaluations, regulatory and safety compliance evaluations, waste inventory and volume estimates, as well as hazardous and radioactive materials evaluations in support of overall facility surveys and assessments.
Working on Federal projects involving government facilities in highly regulated environments that include the potential for hazardous and radioactive wastes requires close interaction with regulators, citizen groups, and other stakeholders to manage the safe disposition of materials within regulatory frameworks and cost and schedule restraints. We have provided technical and management leadership to safely decommission highly contaminated former nuclear weapons facilities, nuclear reactors, and military and industrial buildings and facilities, and we have completed site closures under accelerated schedules and fixed price budgets.
